Teacher Tamara Goff

Cost $21 a month

Materials fee: $45

In this course, students will begin with the basics of knitting and progress through a wide variety of techniques and projects. No prior experience necessary, but students must be grade a minimum of grade 6. Homework completion is vital. In addition to the initial materials fee, which will cover needles, yarn and other knitting needs, there will be additional fees as we begin more projects throughout the year. Some of the projects we hope to complete are a dishcloth, scarf, hat, bag and more as time permits. In the spring we will have a day to dye our own yarn with natural indigo! We will discuss the following as related to knitting: history, math, science, vocabulary and pattern reading. Instructor is a Certified Knitting Instructor, trained by the Craft Yarn Council, with 10 years experience teaching knitters of all ages, as well as a published knitwear designer and homeschool mom.
